Russ O'Blenes is General Motors' long-serving head of high-performance racing powertrain engineering. In 2025, TWG Motorsports and GM established GM Performance Power Units LLC to develop a future in-house power unit for the Cadillac F1 project;
Performance Racing Industry reported that he was appointed CEO of the new company. F1.com's 2026 coverage confirmed that GM Performance Power Units has been approved by the FIA as an F1 power unit supplier from 2029.
