Diego Tondi graduated from the University of Pisa in Aerospace Engineering (Aerodynamics specialization), and joined Ferrari in October 2007, initially working on CFD and wind tunnel testing in the road-car division. He rose entirely through internal promotion at Ferrari: Wind Tunnel Test Engineer, Concept Aerodynamicist, Deputy Head and then Head of the Front End Group, Head of the New Car Concept Group, Chief Aerodynamicist, becoming Head of Aerodynamic Development in January 2021, and in August 2024 took over as Head of Aerodynamics from the departing David Sanchez (part of the chain reaction following Enrico Cardile's departure).
