Research notes
Mark Temple (British) joined McLaren in October 2003 as a Gearbox Design Engineer, and rose steadily through the team over more than two decades: moving through car technology, testing, and race tactics/operations roles, becoming Lewis Hamilton's Performance Engineer in 2010–2011, then his Race Engineer from the 2012 Singapore Grand Prix, and full-time Race Engineer from 2013–2017 (serving Sergio Pérez, Kevin Magnussen, and Fernando Alonso in turn). He then moved into factory-based roles (Head of Simulation Development → Chief Performance Engineer → Head of Car/Driver/Rival Performance Team), and in May 2024 was promoted to Technical Director (Performance) as a member of Andrea Stella's executive technical team. Public records of his university/educational background are missing, and no authoritative source discloses this, so the education field has been left blank rather than guessed.
Part of the top tier of performance engineering, and closely related to race engineering.
