Rob Marshall (born 1968) is a British F1 engineer, currently Chief Technical Officer and Chief Designer at the McLaren F1 team. He earned a first-class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cardiff University (graduating in 1989), then spent about nine years doing aerospace design work at Rolls-Royce before moving into F1 in 1998, joining Benetton. After the team was renamed Renault he was promoted to Head of Mechanical Design, helping the team win back-to-back titles in 2005 and 2006. He joined Red Bull as Chief Designer in 2006 and was promoted to Chief Engineering Officer in 2016;
over his 17 years there he helped design the cars behind Vettel's four consecutive titles and Verstappen's three championships. He joined McLaren in January 2024 and was later promoted to Chief Technical Officer and Chief Designer.
