Cattelani is a French F1 engineer and aerodynamics specialist, holding a PhD in Fluid Mechanics (turbulence modelling) from Universite Pierre-et-Marie-Curie (UPMC) in Paris. His career followed the classic "aero specialist to technical management" path: starting at Peugeot Citroen (1997), then moving through Lola (rising to Head of Aerodynamics), Dallara, and Peugeot Sport (Chief Designer on the Le Mans 908 project), before entering F1 - Chief Aerodynamicist at Lotus F1, Head of Aerodynamics at McLaren, and joining Red Bull in 2020 as Chief Engineer for Technology and Analysis Tools (winning multiple titles with the team). He moved to sister team Racing Bulls in 2024 as Deputy Technical Director for Car Performance. He left the team in 2026 when Dan Fallows arrived as Technical Director.
