Paul Williams is a British F1 engineer who graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southampton. He started out in 2002 at Team Penske in the United States, working on aerodynamics for IndyCar, the American Le Mans Series and NASCAR programmes, and served as Design Office Manager from 2009 to 2011. He joined Williams F1 in 2011 as a Trackside Aerodynamicist, later moving into race engineering roles, serving as race engineer for Sergey Sirotkin (2018) and Robert Kubica (2019);
he was Chief Race Engineer from 2020 to 2025, and was promoted to Head of Trackside Engineering in 2025, leading the entire trackside engineering team.
