驹场绫雄1976年生于东京，1995年赴英就读拉夫堡大学，先后取得汽车工程学士（1999）与车辆动力学与控制博士。2003年以轮胎工程师身份进入F1（英美车队），后转投雷诺/莲花担任性能工程师、比赛工程师与首席比赛工程师。2016年随格罗斯让加盟新成立的哈斯车队任赛道工程总监，2024年1月升任车队领队，当年即带领哈斯取得2018年以来最佳车队第七名。是，典型工程师型领队。F1.com 与 Haas 任命声明均写明他从 Chief Race Engineer 晋升到 Director of Engineering，再成为 Team Principal。
