Research notes
Paolo Angilella is a veteran Italian single-seater engineer, roughly 50 years old, residing in Veneto/Vicenza. He spent many years at Prema as an FIA European Formula 3 race engineer, leading Felix Rosenqvist (2015) and Mick Schumacher (2018) to F3 drivers' championships, and served as engineer for Lukas Dunner in 2020. At the end of 2019, at the invitation of MP team principal Dorsman, he joined MP as Technical Director for F2 and F3, spearheading a technical and methodological overhaul, and was a key driving force behind MP's rise to become a top F2 team within three years (with Drugovich's 2022 championship). The FIA F2 2026 page still contains the misspelling 'Paolo Angeilella';
this table follows the spelling 'Paolo Angilella' used by FIA F3, Formula Scout, and LinkedIn. The FIA Formula 2 2026 page's technicalDirector field is still mistakenly listed as Paolo Angeilella;
the official FIA Formula 3 MP Motorsport page, Formula Scout, and LinkedIn all use Paolo Angilella. The LinkedIn profile in question belongs to a Paolo Angilella in Pavia, Italy, listing attendance at the Istituto Universitario di Scienze Motorie (University Institute of Motor Sciences) in Pavia, consistent with media reports describing him as living in Veneto/Vicenza, Italy, and being around 50 years old;
however, the profile is extremely sparse and lists no employment history, so confidence is medium.
