Sylvain Filippi is the top decision-maker at Envision Racing, with overall responsibility for the team's sporting, technical, and commercial affairs. Early in his career he worked at BMW and DaimlerChrysler. From 2007 he turned his focus to electric vehicles and founded EV Cup, the world's first zero-emission electric vehicle racing series. In 2014 he joined Envision Virgin Racing as a co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, and in 2018 additionally took on the role of Managing Director, leading the team to its first Formula E World Championship title.
