Research notes
Florian Modlinger was born in 1981 in Friedberg, Germany, and studied Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Munich. In 2010 he served as Race Engineer and Technical Director at a Maserati customer team, winning the FIA GT1 World Championship. He then moved to BMW as an Aerodynamics Engineer, and from 2013 worked at Audi/ABT as Test Engineer and Technical Director, winning DTM championships. In 2022 he joined Porsche as the factory Formula E Director of Factory Motorsport, overseeing the entire Formula E programme (racing and new car development), and in 2024 led Pascal Wehrlein to the Drivers' World Championship.
