Research notes
An official 2026 FIA WEC video confirms Ryan Dingle is race engineer for Toyota Gazoo Racing's WEC car #8, the primary engineering voice Sébastien Buemi hears over the radio. Ryan Dingle is a racing engineer from Coquitlam, Canada, who earned an engineering degree from the University of British Columbia before pursuing a postgraduate degree in racing engineering at Oxford Brookes University. His engineering career has mainly unfolded in Japan: starting in All-Japan F3, he then served as a race engineer in Super Formula at Team LeMans, KCMG and Servus/Mugen, as well as in SUPER GT (Bandoh, ARTA), and is fluent in Japanese. He joined Toyota Gazoo Racing in 2022 and has since served as race engineer for the FIA WEC #8 GR010 Hybrid. His LinkedIn headline reads "Ryan K. Dingle – Race Engineer in WEC (#8)," fully consistent with his identity as Toyota Racing's #8 race engineer within this batch of entries;
official Motorsport.com and FIA WEC interviews report on this Canadian engineer's rise from Japanese Super Formula/Super GT, joining Toyota's WEC programme in 2022 to succeed Jakob Andreasen, responsible for the #8 GR010 Hybrid.
